About Gabbie

I’m a creative, multi-passionate human… who happens to really enjoy numbers and talking about money. I’m also a mom of two spunky, feisty, incredibly smart daughters. Who are the “WHY” behind a lot of what I do. My whole life I spent idolizing the corporate ladder, professionalism, and authority. Until I became a mom and suddenly had a much different perspective on life and how I wanted to spend my time.

Which was NOT 10 more years in financial auditing, or even a few more years as a fractional CFO consultant.

It WAS connecting with other women and moms to help them feel more empowered in their businesses, so they could show up more fully for their own amazing lives.

and now for a little fun…

Once upon a time in the rolling hills of New Hampshire, a young woman named Gabbie embarked on a journey that would take her from the classrooms of the University of New Hampshire to the boardrooms of venture-backed tech startups. Armed with dual degrees in accounting and information systems, and further fortified with a master's in accounting, Gabbie set out into the world with a CPA license in her pocket and a hunger for impact in her heart.

Her earliest forays into the realm of finance led her into the rigorous domains of SOC and financial auditing at public accounting firms. But Gabbie was no ordinary auditor. While crunching numbers by day, she moonlighted as a university lecturer—igniting minds and shaping futures at her alma mater, UNH. It wasn’t just a job; it was a calling. She envisioned a future where she might eventually become a professor.

The winds of change began to blow when Gabbie became a mother in 2018. Re-entering the workforce, she found a glass ceiling she hadn't noticed before. The environment lacked empathy and flexibility, especially for professional women with young children. Deciding she deserved better, Gabbie transitioned into corporate accounting for a public company, where her knack for relationship-building shone.

Then came the pandemic, a second daughter, and the challenges of closed childcare centers coupled with unyielding finance deadlines. After encountering cultural mismatches post-layoffs, Gabbie opted for a new path, launching a part-time CFO consulting business. What she discovered was astonishing: even well-funded male tech entrepreneurs often lacked fundamental financial structures.

It was then that she stumbled upon the game-changing philosophy of 'Profit First.' This revelation led her to pivot her focus towards empowering creative, female business owners who juggle the demands of entrepreneurship and caregiving. Through The Profit Mama Academy, Gabbie applies her vast experience as a full-time and fractional CFO, combined with an empathetic approach to money mindset, to help women break through their financial glass ceilings.

And so, in the ever-changing landscape of finance and work-life balance, Gabbie continues to carve out a unique path—proving every day that the road less traveled can indeed make all the difference.
